Last night I read the kids one of the best books – How The Grinch Stole Christmas. It was rather fun but something stood out to me (as it does often). Christmas isn’t about the presents it’s about being present. Too often we get caught up finding that perfect gift, digging through aisles and boxes to find the right Fingerling or the color dress they HAD to have. As nice as those things are, please remember this: As everyone finishes up their last minute Christmas shopping, don’t forget the most important thing as you wake up on the Christmas day. It isn’t about what is under the tree, it’s about who is around it. Christmas is about who you will see that day, what adventures you will have with the ones that you love. It’s about taking the kids out early to ride a bike in the freezing cold or playing another round of twister. It’s about cherishing the moments around the dinner table as you eat the feast of feasts. Christmas is about video chatting with the long distant cousins and telling them that you love them. Christmas is about cuddling on the couch later that night and talking about your favorite parts as you eat popcorn and drink hot cocoa. Make new traditions this year or revive old ones, just find things that bring you joy on Christmas Day. From my family to yours, Merry Christmas guys!
