Busy Weekend

Busy Weekend

Hey guys! If you didn’t know, I have a few different shops around Etsy. I sell everything from digital products like SVG files for crafters to decals and even shirts. (Link will be below if you want to check them out). I have been for a lack of a better word, afraid lately. There is always something that I have to do that took priority (in my head) and I never started the day with a plan which caused me not to accomplish anything at all!

Well, this weekend I was determined to fix that. I got my heat press in the mail on Friday at 7 pm. After sweating the mailbox, the windows, and the front doors like a dog all day I realized that I needed to do something for myself and grow my businesses. I typically get really excited for things, set them up, and never go through with the project (I have a ton of half-baked projects and NEW supplies sitting around my office waiting for my touch). I couldn’t let this be an expense that was a waste of money. I spent Friday night, Saturday, and even Sunday working on designs for my clothing shop. I now have 50 listed and even more ready to go up.  That might not seem like a lot to some, however, for me, this was a big deal. I have been dragging my feet, saying  “I need to” or “I should” and I did not want another day to go by where my shop sat with a dozen shirts.

I give the advice to people who ask me about Etsy all the time and read it for that matter, “People don’t know you are there and on Etsy, they won’t find you unless you have a lot of product.” Which is typically true. Etsy gives you 13 searchable phrases (I’ll talk about this more in another blog) and if you only have 10 items, you are only getting pulled up 130 times given that you have 130 different search terms. (This isn’t entirely true, there are other ways your listings get pulled up, BUT for illustration purposes, go with me here). If you have 100 items, your listings can pop up in 1300 searches! Image all those extra eyes on YOUR products.

Working on my “should do” list brought me back to my main shop, the decals, and digital designs. I have been saying for some time that I need to get a certain project off the ground. However, I continue to stall, say “I’ll do it tomorrow”. Nope! Ashley, you are doing it today! After a few hours of work and research, I am pleased to announce that I have the designs for my first wedding invitation set ready to list. I already have a few wedding notebooks that have been great sellers for me for some time now and I really wanted to offer the wedding invites that match those notebooks and now I can.

Outside of these fun projects, I also mowed my yard, cleaned the house, kept the tiny humans alive (even tossed them some food here and there). LOL

The reason I am writing might be more for me than anything so that I can come back later and see what I can do if I set my mind to it. If you are reading this, I really want you to know that having ideas and “should do” lists are great. Everyone should have a list of goals that they want to do. However, unless you are taking the time to complete those goals, those tasks, you won’t get where you want to be. Start doing something today, right now and make steps towards your end results. You will not regret the time you took to make it happen, but you will regret the time you didn’t take to make your dreams come true.
